15 x Alcoholfree

With #DryJanuary happening and Tournée Minérale coming up in February, there’s definitely a demand for a broad range of ‘alcoholfree cocktails’/’mocktails’. And because of this trend of being more conscious of what we’re drinking, there’s also been a huge rise in alcoholfree “spirits”, which is led by Seedlip’s movement from the past year and a half.

The reason I’m putting spirits in between quotation marks is because there’s been a bit of a stir whether it’s a term we should lose or keep, with people boldly advocating on both sides. I personally also like the term ‘Phantoms’, coined by Simon Difford in his blogpost on 2019 Drinks Trends, but while there’s no consensus yet, what about having a drink in the meantime?

All but one of the recipes I’m sharing in this post are based on one of the Alcoholfree Spirits which you can see above. And if after 15 brand new recipe you’re still not satisfied, check out last year’s list of 20 Alcoholfree recipes for more inspiration.

VYLMER MISTRAL (BELGIUM)

15. A little extra: A FRESH WIND BLOWING
Vylmer Mistral is a Belgian ‘Sparkling Aperitif’, named after the French – Mediterranean Northwestern Wind. In this drink I paired it with a splash of lemon juice (10-15ml) and a couple of dashes (1/3 of a teaspoon, be very careful) Orange Blossom Water.
